Ely is located on the A10, approximately 20 miles from Downham Market and 15 miles from Cambridge. It has a Saturday market, several large supermarkets and a variety of the usual shops. Its main attraction is the Cathedral, and the river, with boating a strong theme, as are the antiques barns. A busy tourist attraction site with many visitors commuting from Cambridge on the local railway line.
