Cambridge is located on the A10 and M11, approximately 35 miles from Downham Market and 55 miles from London. It has a market, open 7 days a week. The City is broadly split into 2 halves - with the Grafton Centre making up the typical indoor modern shopping complex, leaving the rest of the City to dwell in its historical roots. The shops in the City are mainly bespoke and are dotted around the streets surrounding the University building and Halls of Residence. Shoppers should use the Park and Ride facilities located on the outskirts of the city as parking is at a premium within the City. The main attraction is the University atmosphere of an ancient City which retains its architectural roots. There are many places to eat, especially towards the River Cam, where you can hire punts, or leaving the punting to the professionals and opt for a guided tour with commentary supplied by Students. The City is heavily geared towards students and academics. A busy tourist attraction site with many visitors commuting from London with a journey time of approximately 1 hour on the local railway line, which also goes to Stansted Airport, making an easy City to visit.
