The furniture shown below shows my kitchen cabinets,
designed to fit and suit my kitchen, again the out of town stores only
cater for the mass market, with their chipboard veneers in some sort
of plastic wood effect, which would not have suited the character of
my house. I wanted cabinets that were free standing, to suit the wobbly
nature of my walls, with no right angles, extending to the ceiling,
to maximize space. The cabinets are made from solid pine 1 1/2 inches
thick, all dovetailed and glazed, with custom made handles, so that
they are unique to me. The larger cabinet is over 10 feet long and about
5 feet high, made in 2 sections and sits on a hefty wooden rail fixed
to the wall. The smaller cooker hood cabinet had to have 2 unequal side
cabinets again as my house is not "square", something which
you cannot buy in the shops off the shelf.
The table was produced to fit the available space, at the exact size
that I required. I cheated a bit here and used the legs off an old Ikea
table, but I never claim to be into metal work as well!
The telephone table and childs dressing table were commissioned to match
existing furniture styles, excuse the wonky angle of the dressing table
- too much wide angle used!
